My name is Marcin Kowalczyk. I grew up in Witów, a small village in the heart of Polish Tatra Mountains, 15 km from the resort of Zakopane, Poland.
From a young age I used to go for hiking tours in Tatra Mountains with my parents, and visit caves which are frequent in the Tatras. In winters I enjoyed skiing and ski-touring in the Tatra Mountins. As a teenager, I started my adventure with rock and mountain climbing.
During high school I decided to turn my passion for Tatra Mountains into my career. I have completed Tourist Guide Training and became a Licensed Tourist Guide.
Since 2003 I have been a Licensed Mountain Guide. As caves have always been my passion, I have completed a caving course.
I studied Geoghraphy in Jagielloński University in Cracow. In 2006 I joined Tatra Mountains Rescue Team (TOPR).
I have been organising guided hiking trips in Poland and Eastern Europe, and mountain climbing trips in Polish and Slovakian Tatras.
